The HSBC  Road To Wimbledon  National  14 and Under Tournament in the UK is the largest junior tournament on grass in the UK. It  Began in 2002 involving clubs, parks & schools for juniors 14 & Under.   About800 clubs, parks and schools participate through to 44 county finals and 128 boys & girls qualifying for the National Finals played on grass at Wimbledon.

 In 2014, the All Englad Lawn Tennis Club launched the HSBC Road to Wimbledon in India, a new initiative in partnership with the All India Tennis Association, aimed at boosting the development of junior tennis in the country. India is the first country where Wimbledon has run an event of this kind outside the UK.   After three successful years, The 2017 edition of Road To Wimbledon India  is already underway in the country. It has  four preliminary events, which are being played  in AITA’s National Series format for the juniors. The first tournament was held at Pune last week ( January.16 ) and  KSLTA is conducting the second  event in Bengaluru  from  Jan.23) and it will be followed  by one  in Chandigarh ( from February 6 ) and Kolkata ( Kolkata, from Feb.13 )  and  finally the series  conclude with a Masters finals in New Deli. ( April.10 to 15 ). The winner and runner-up in both the boys and girls singles  in the Masters  tournament will qualify for  the  HSBC r  Road To Wimbledon finals  at Wimbledon, scheduled to be held from  August.14 to 19. .

 Following the success of Road to Wimbledon India, in 2016 the Road to Wimbledon China was launched in Nanjing, in partnership with Rolex and the Tennis Association China, to support the development of Chinese tennis. Following a week of events hosted at the Tennis Academy of China in Nanjing, the top two boys and girls travelled to Wimbledon to take part in the UK National Finals.

The WJTI (Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative)  is the trail blazing community tennis initiative run by The All England Lawn Tennis Club.   It is a unique scheme which broadens the base at grassroots level through its school visits and offers players the chance to develop their skills and enjoy the game in the sessions held at the Club.  To date over 180,000 children have enjoyed their first experience of tennis with the WJTI with 2,500 children receiving scholarships for free tennis sessions at The All England Club.  The Initiative has attracted much praise and attention as it succeeds in all areas from playground to performance.
