The DafaNews Bengaluru Open officially unveiled the trophy on Tuesday night with a grand ceremony on the sidelines of the world-class tennis action taking place at the KSLTA Courts in Cubbon Park. The event saw the presence of tournament dignitaries, officials, and Indian players, highlighting its growing stature in its debut year as an ATP Challenger 125 event.
Additionally, the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Authority (KSLTA), also felicitated officials at the dinner event, honouring ATP Supervisor Andrey Korlinov and the entire officiating team from ATP.
The trophy unveiling was led by Sunil Yajaman, Tournament Director & Secretary, KSLTA, Mr Maheshwar Rao IAS, Hon. Secretary, KSLTA & Secretary, Organising Committee, and Indian stars, including Ramkumar Ramanathan, Karan Singh, Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha, Aryan Shah, and more. The exquisitely handcrafted trophy, designed by Cauvery Handicrafts Emporium, a Government of Karnataka Undertaking, was also on full display, featuring elephant motifs, symbolising strength, wisdom, good fortune, and protection.
“The Bengaluru Open has grown into a marquee event on the global Challenger circuit, and the unveiling of the trophy tonight celebrates not just the tournament’s legacy but also its bright future. With our elevation to an ATP Challenger 125 event, the competition is more intense than ever. We are in the midst of action and we look forward further to an exciting week of high-quality tennis,” said Sunil Yajaman.
Organised by the KSLTA, the Bengaluru Open is India’s biggest international Tennis event. Along with USD 200,000 prize money, the tournament will give 125 valuable ATP ranking points to its winners.
