The third day of the ITF-J30 Bengaluru Tournament witnessed a stellar performance from Karnataka’s rising tennis stars as five players advanced to the quarterfinals in their respective categories. Leading the charge were Sehaj Singh Pawar, Sreenidhi Balaji, Snigdha Kanta, Amodini Naik, and Anvi Punaganti, who showcased their dominance on the court.

In a nail-biting match, Sehaj Singh Pawar(S1) edged out Tanussh Ghildyal in straight sets, 7-6(2), 7-6(3). Sehaj’s composure in the tiebreaks proved crucial, allowing him to clinch the victory and advance to the quarterfinals. Sreenidhi Balaji (S1) and Snigdha Kanta(S4), both hailing from Karnataka, secured comfortable victories in their Pre-quarterfinal matches. Sreenidhi defeated wildcard Disha Kumar 6-2, 6-0 in a dominant display, overpowering her opponent with ease. Snigdha Kanta, who was the finalist at the J60 Hyderabad a , overcame Aanya Choubey 7-6(4), 6-3. Snigdha’s performance was marked by precise shot-making and strategic play, as she controlled the match from start to finish.
Amodini Naik(S3) and Anvi Punaganti Continue Karnataka’s Winning Streak
Amodini Naik(S3) and Anvi Punaganti also emerged victorious in their matches, further highlighting the strength of Karnataka’s tennis contingent. Amodini defeated Disha Behera 7-5, 6-1, while Anvi secured a 6-4, 6-2 win against Anushka Bhola. Both players exhibited strong mental resilience, particularly in the key moments of their matches, ensuring their places in the quarterfinals.
