Karnataka lad SD Prajwal Dev on the back of a brilliant showing at the recently concluded National Games is the top Indian in the fray earning the rank of the third seed for the main event of the Ultratech ITF Kalaburagi Open that will be played at the Chandrashekar Patil Stadium here from on Sunday.

An elaborate draw ceremony was held where Deputy Commissioner of Kalaburagi Ms Fouzia Taranum, MLC, Mr Shashil Namosh, MLA Mr MY Patil, Tournament Supervisor Mr Dharaka Ellawala of Sri Lanka, Mr Vajpai and Tournament Director Peter Vijaykumar were present.

Ukranian Vladyslav Orlov is the top seed while Ryuki Matsuda of Japan is seeded second. Siddharth Rawat, and Ramkumar Ramnathan are seeded 4th and 5th respectively. Rishabh Agarwal, Austrian  David Pichler and Karan Singh bring up the rear of the seeded players in the US $ 25,000 prize money event.

Meanwhile, eight qualifiers were identified after the second and final round of qualifying.
