Disha has a field day enroute to semis at ASTA-AITA U-18

Disha Santosh had a field day when she entered the Girls U-18 semifinals with back to back upset victories in the ASTA-AITA CS3 U-18 championship at the FSA courts here on Wednesday. Disha first upset the second seed Sanjitha Ramesh 8-6 in the pre-quarterfinal bout and then sent seventh seed Nidi Buvilla home with a 9-8 (10-8) victory to storm into the last four. Earlier, Kaajal Ramisetty who had upset the top seed Meenakshi Lavakumar 8-3 in the last 16 encounter, succumbed to Athmika Srieenivas in the quarterfinals going down 1-9.

 

Meanwhile in the Boys category, Kevin Titus continued his dream run when he felled the eighth seed Tannush Ghildiyal 9-8 (10-8) to book a semifinal berth.
