Rishi, Vanshita in final at KSLTA-AITA Pro Circuit 2021

Bengaluru, 15 October, 2021   

State contenders Rishi Reddy and Vanshita Pathania entered the finals in the Men’s and Women’s category respectively of the Rs 2-lakh prize money KSLTA-AITA Pro Circuit 2021. In the semifinals played here at the KSLTA Stadium here on Friday, Rishi, seeded second was an easy 6-1, 6-2 winner over Boopathy Shaktivel of Tamil Nadu while Vanshita continued her good run sending home fourth seed Gayatri Menon of Kerala 6-4, 6-2.

Rishi will meet the top seed Ishaque Eqbal of West Bengal for honours. The latter stopped the talented giant killer Oges Theyjo but not before the Tamilian had taken a set off the fancied player before succumbing tamely in the next two sets.

Vanshita will clash with third seed Avishka Gupta of Telangana for a shot at the women’s title. Avishka overcame a fighting Lalitya Kalluri of Maharashtra 6-2, 5-7, 6-3.
