Nidi scores upset win enroute to quarterfinal

Bengaluru, 28 September, 2021   

Nidi Buvila S advanced to the quarterfinal in style when she sent the top seed Meenakshi Lavakumar reeling in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 in the Sportle Topspin AITA CS 7 U-18, held under aegis of KSLTA here on Tuesday.

 Indian National Junior team member Kriish Ajay Tyagi outplayed sixth seed Deepak Sridhar in three sets 0-6, 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the last eight stage. Also scoring upset wins were Thanush Ghindyal who beat fifth seed Anirudh Adithya 6-1, 6-2 and Vaibhav Krishna who ousted third seed Tarun Vetrivelan 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.
