Sehaj Singh scored a superb comeback win against the top seed Aaradhaya Dwivedi to make it to the title round of the Transform Tennis Academy AITA CS7 Under-14 tennis tournament held under the aegis of KSLTA here on Thursday. Sehaj, ranked two rungs below, lost the first set 4-6 in the first semifinal tie, but came back brilliantly to win the second set 6-1 before sealing his victory via tie-breaker in the deciding set. Sehaj will meet fourth seeded Leethaesh in the final. The latter also won in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 against Abhradeep.
Meanwhile, Mandya girl Kashvi Sunil continued her dream run despite a hitch in the second set which she lost before registering a 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 win against Shreenithi Chowdhury to enter the finals. She will now clash with fifth seed Sushmitha Ravi who saw the back of Sannvi Misra with a straight set 6-1, 6-4 victory.
In a match that saw Sehej lose the momentum as soon as he seemed to have found it, the top seed restored parity after being 0-3 down in the opening set and broke in the ninth game to go 5-4 up before serving out for the set. Then Sehej, once again was 3-0 up in the second but only this time he did not allow his opponent to come back into the game, clinching the set 6-1. The final set also had a similar beginning with Sehaj who turned 14 in June, taking a 2-0 lead and built it 4-2 before losing the grip and was down a match point. He not only saved the match point but went on to win the next game as well taking the set into a tie-breaker which he won at 7-3.
