Tarun Vetrivelan, Suhitha Maruri triumph in the AITA Talent Series tennis tournament held at KSLTA

Bengaluru, 22 November, 2020   

Top Seed and National Ranked 7 Suhitha Maruri of Karnataka stayed calm and stroked with ease in beating the unseeded National Ranked 526 Vanya Srivastav of Karnataka 6\2,6\1 in the Girls 16 and Under finals of the KSLTA-AITA Talent series 16 and under Tennis Tournament held at KSLTA Tennis Stadium cubbon Park. Vanya After loosing the first 3 games in the 1st set did try to come back by breaking Suhitha’s Serve in the 4th game to make it 3\2 but the strong and experienced Suhitha sail through with ease to close the set 6\2 and the second set was a cake walk.

The boys 16 and under finals was a nail-biting match packed with power and both the players gave run for each other to gain the National Ranking points. The 2nd seeded ranked 85 in the country Tarun vetrivelan arrested his opponent Mandeep Reddy Kudumala in a trilling 3 setter match which lasted 3hrs and 5min. Tarun’s flamboyant attitude and aggressive backhand down the line and variation in strokes helped him beat his opponent in the score line of 6\4,2\6,6\4.   

Mr. M D Dyaberi IAS (Retd) and Vice President KSLTA gave away the prizes during the prize distribution.
